100% Grüner Veltliner. Indiginous yeast, light filtration, no fining. Organic methods used.
Lighter style of Gruner from young vines, fermented and aged in stainless steel rather than large Austrian oak. Appealing wine with notes of pear and plum and good freshness on the finish. Pair w/Trout, Smoked Fish.
WHY IS THE WINE CALLED POTATO LAND?
“A friend of mine, a winemaker originally from Burgundy, started to rent some vineyards in the Kamptal and now makes wine in Austria. he is very funny and slightly arrogant (French) and he is always complaining about the Austrian winemakers that they don’t know what they are doing and they don’t have any idea of terroir. in his opinion most of the Austrian vines are growing on POTATOLAND” MATTHIAS WARNUNG
