A rare treat indeed, a low intervention wine from the conservative Bordeaux region.
The nose is fruity, fresh, with a nice pulpy/juicy fruit. It reveals notes of luscious/bright blackcurrant, luscious/bright bigarreau cherry and slight notes of jammy redcurrants associated with fine touches of liquorice and fine sweet hints. Fruity palate, with a tangy frame and juiciness, as well as a certain gourmandise, a certain purity and a little darkness. There is also tension and directness: we find notes of juicy/pulpy blackberry, juicy/pulpy blackcurrant and slight notes of roasted cherry associated with touches of crushed plum, toasted/chocolate as well as fine, almost sappy hints in the background. The tannins are soft and salivating. Freshness and silkiness.
