Sweet stouts were originally marketed as nutritional and lactating mothers were encouraged to drink them. Fast forward 100 years and they are taken at face value; deliciously smooth and creamy, with a satisfying sweet finish.

Originally founded in 1758, the Old Brewery in Tadcaster became home to Samuel Smith Brewery in 1886 and has remained independent ever since. With water still drawn from a well dating back to 1758 and a yeast strain over 100 years old still used, it is clear that this brewery is proud of it's history and tradition. A proper old brewery that makes beers of superb quality.
