Historical IPAs which were originally brewed back in the early 19th century, would have been dry, bitter, funky & made using native hops & malted barley. Our interpretation has been brewed with in a similar way using organic First Gold & Suffolk grown Boadicea hops & floor malted barley grown 3 miles from our pub & brewery.
Brewed in February 2020, it aged in oak for a year along with our mixed culture before being bottled & left for another 8 months to mature before release.
Despite its aging, it still exhibits a robust bitterness that accentuates the long, dry, musty, bretty finish.
